So I didn't get to recreate the jacket photo from Christine but the top photo here is still pretty cool. The particular 1957 Plymouth Fury has been lovingly restored from parts of cars used in the John Carpenter film by Bill Gibson. It's beautiful and brilliantly enhanced. If you get a chance to step in front of the car, be sure to say hello.
The display comes with cases of Christine memorabilia including a case featuring numerous cover versions of the book. The folks handling this are raffling a Blu-ray of the film with the cover signed by all the major cast members. (Yes, I entered.)
So what else did I do yesterday?
I also had a chance to catch up with director/actress Jessica Cameron. We talked about cats. We also talked about me. Because Cameron is one of the most supportive people I've met in this industry and not only remembered me from last year (and my review of her incredible film Truth or Dare), but asked how this blog was doing and showed genuine interest. She's great.
I spent most of the day hanging out with Michelle Kilmer and Becky Hansen at the When the Dead Books table. Not only are we selling GIVE: An Anthology of Anatomical Entries which I co-edited with Kilmer, but also Kilmer's other books: the novel When the Dead, the prequel The Spread which she co-wrote with twin sister Hansen, and the short story collection Last Night While You Were Sleeping. All of these books are worth your time (and money) and buying more than one will get you discounts.
