No, the day is not done. I'm rather tired and since finishing my first panel, I've been trying to take a nap to no avail. I might just pack it in. We'll see.
Here's what I've learned today:
The Soska Sisters told me that See No Evil 2 is amazing and they wish it would be released soon. We briefly chatted about how much the first film wasn't very good but was also full of missed opportunities. They promised me they took those opportunities. We also talked about actress Tristan Risk who happened to be sitting at the next table. Risk is a person to keep note of as she deserves to be a star. I was lucky enough to share an awkward across the table hug with Jen and Sylvia, so that was cool.
I also had a brief chat with Camden Toy about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Hush." "You don't watch Buffy and expect to be scared like that," he said. Toy was one of the pale men in the episode and he said the make-up took four hours to put on and one hour to remove.
I introduced myself to Jeffrey Combs, Naomi Grossman, and Jennifer Lynn Warren and told Zach Galligan how much I love Waxwork. (I am doing a good job of not totally geeking out.)
My panel on reality vs. fiction went well. Fellow panelist Ronnie Angel was great as he talked about many of the slasher movies said to be inspired by true stories. I talked a lot about The Amityville Horror and The Blair Witch Project. The conclusion we came to is that people crave the truth even if reality itself is malleable.
So, nap? I've been up since 6 a.m. (after only five hours of sleep because my wife and I went to X-Men: Days of Future Past last night). There's a burlesque show at 11 that I might go to, so this day has not been put to sleep. (Yes, as a matter of fact I did tell my wife I might go to the burlesque show.)
