PARTS of a whole: Carson Dudley returns!

One of my favorite reluctant monster hunters is getting ready to make his return to the page. Carson Dudley, convenience store clerk extraordinaire and center of the Graveyard Shift: The Adventures of Carson Dudley series by Washington author Chris Weedin, is nearing his re-emergence in a third book titled PARTS.

Weedin has supplied Warning Signs not only with a sneak peek, but an opportunity for readers to catch up with Carson before PARTS is ready for consumption. First, the tease, courtesy of Weedin himself:

Parts are NOT always parts...

especially when they're not attached where they normally are. Then they're weird. And freaky. And shocking. And sometimes downright deadly. Someone in Las Calamas is doing his darndest to jam the streets full of all of it and he doesn't care where the parts are coming from: living, dead or otherwise. Caught in the crosshairs of a Mad Scientist and his eery creations, Carson and the Gang have their hands full. Still facing the mystery of the enigmatic and now actively hostile Curio Shop, the fledgling monster hunters are faced with a mounting body count, stitched horrors and a shadowy new threat that seems bent on making Las Calamas its very own biological play ground of science gone bad – very very bad. Mix in a healthy dose of work worries, relationship troubles, mysterious secrets, dire prophecies, police investigations, arrests, diets and even a Ghost from the past and it's no wonder everything and everyone is driven right to the edge. And when it all goes crashing over, the only thing left will be broken, tangled, bloody... Parts!

Just in case you are new to Warning Signs, or don't remember how the first two books -- Midnight Snack and Another Rotten Night -- went down, here is your refresher. Of course, the best way to get back in touch with Carson, Kiki, Dex, and Sister Becky is to read (or re-read) the first two books. If you don't have them, here's how to get them: Send an email to sales@crucifictiongames.com with the code word WARNINGSIGNS and you'll get 50 percent off Midnight Snack and/or Another Rotten Night. Then get ready for PARTS!

Seriously, you should get ready. Weedin will be running a Kickstarter campaign with the new book and he tells me that one of the perks is an opportunity to be written into the book. Other unique perks will be revealed soon. Warning Signs will be your home for cover teasers and more info on the Kickstarter campaign, so don't forget to come back often.

While you are at it, be sure to check out Weedin's gaming products such the Horror Rules roleplaying game and the tabletop card game Relentless at www.crucifictiongames.com. Relentless was made possible through a successful Kickstarter campaign which included some very informative videos. The video below showcases just how organized the zombie horde could be. And hey, who is that handsome zombie in the Red Sox cap?
