Scary song of the week: Black No. 1

On August 17, 1993, Type O Negative dropped one of the most influential albums of my life. Bloody Kisses, for me, helped bridge the gap between metal and goth. The album is heavy, as in there is a weight to it that can't be denied. The cover is titillating, especially to a young boy growing up in repressionville Utah.

I remember first seeing the video for "Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All) on Beavis and Butt-head. The young duo actually enjoyed this one, which was rare. Later -- much, much later -- I did get to see Type O Negative in concert (thanks again, Vera!) and had a great time.

So, without further ado: "Black No. 1."
