"The Hunger" director Tony Scott apparent suicide

Director Tony Scott, best known for action films such as "Top Gun" and "Days of Thunder" has died after jumping off a bridge according to the Los Angeles Times.

Scott, brother of Ridley Scott, dabbled in the horror genre as a producer and director. He teamed with his brother on this summer's "Prometheus" and helmed the 1983 vampire flick "The Hunger," which starred David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon. The film also introduced the world to Bauhaus's goth standard "Bela Lugosi's Dead."
