For extra security, get Zombie Watchdog

You haven't planned a summer vacation yet and you want to avoid (or head toward) a place more likely to experience a zombie outbreak. You need Zombie Watchdog.

The Android app connects you to news reports, collects and collates data to show you the zombie hotspots of the world.

Similar to Warning Signs rating systems, Zombie Watchdog uses a color-coded alert system based on the Homeland Security terrorist alerts.

Hey, it works. People understand colors.

Currently, the app is only available on Android devices. (I'm trying to get it working for my Kindle Fire. I'll let you know when I have it going.)

Shameless plug/disclosure: My cousin Cody is one of the developers of this app. Which makes it more awesome.

Download it, follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook. Your life may depend on it.

  1. I've only recently started checking the site and apparently Central America is level two. Without any explanation why.

I emailed as soon as they upgraded an entire subcontinent and still have not received a response.

I know it's all fun and games but considering how seriously some people do take this, I at least think an explanation should be provided for upgrades.

Do people actually pay for this app?

For explanations on why a region was escalated to another alert level check the new page of the Zombie Watchdog site

There is a Pro version of the app coming soon, it will be the paid version. The pro version will make it more obvious why an alert level was changed.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
