Good-bye, Bradbury

There are not many famous people I will weep over when they pass. As many of you probably did, I woke up this morning to learn that author Ray Bradbury had died at age 91.

I will cry today.

Bradbury was one of the first authors I identified as a writer. I had seen "Something Wicked This Way Comes" as a child and had to know who created such a dark and delicious treat. Bradbury could be sentimental, scary, playful, and political. The man is a true American treasure. And even though he's gone, his books and stories will live on.

To you, Ray Bradbury, I sing the body electric.
