Constant Reading Project, book one: Carrie

Stephen King's first published novel is "Carrie," the story of a high school girl who blossoms into a terrible power.

Released: April 5, 1974
Pages: 253
Screen adaptations: 1976, directed by Brian De Palma; 2002, directed by David Carson (TV).

For an author we've come to know for churning out brick-sized novels, King's first published novel is relatively short. At 253 pages, it should only take a little over three days to finish is, if I maintain the 77-page a day pace required. This is a good chance to get ahead right from the get-go.

I don't remember the last time I read "Carrie," but I'm guessing it's been about 10 years. So this will be fun for all of us.
