Constant reading Project begins NOW

I've decided to get a jump on the Constant Reading Project. Instead of waiting for January 1, I'm starting today.

Before we get into the details of the first book, here's how this is going to work.

CONSTANT READING PROJECT

60 BOOKS
30,464 PAGES
394 DAYS (Dec. 7, 2011 to Dec. 31, 2012. 2012 IS A LEAP YEAR)
AVERAGE DAILY READING REQUIRED: 77 PAGES

NOTABLE EXCEPTIONS:

BOTH THE ORIGINAL AND UNCUT VERSIONS OF "THE STAND" WILL BE READ IN THEIR PROPER ORDER,
GRANTING I CAN FIND A COPY OF THE FIRST VERSION.

ONLY ONE VERSION OF "THE DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER" WILL BE READ AS THE CHANGES AREN'T
DEEMED SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO READ BOTH.

"THE LONG WALK," "ROADWORK," "RAGE," AND "THE RUNNING MAN" WILL BE READ AS
"THE BACHMAN BOOKS" INSTEAD OF INDIVIDUALLY.

SPECIAL EDITIONS ("SALEM'S LOT" ILLUSTRATED, "BAG OF BONES" 10TH ANNIVERSARY, ETC.),
WILL ONLY BE USED FOR CONVENIENCE.

I will start each book with a description of the book, including year of publication and number of pages.
I will also include information such as whether the book has been adapted to film ("Dollar babies" won't be listed.
There's too damn many of them.)
I will also mention any tie-in books, even some of the Dark Tower connections.

So check back later today for the opening salvo in Warning Signs Constant Reading Project.

  1. I really wish you the best of luck. I myself could never finish 60 books in a year and reading ONLY Stephen King's brick-sized novels would wear me down after a short while. I finished Under The Dome a couple of months ago and felt like I had run a marathon and chose a much shorter book as my next read to catch my breath so to speak.
I've read a LOT of King but not all his stuff and plan to at least finally tackle The Dark Tower series come 2012.

  2. I regularly read more than 60 novels a year (though 30,000 pages is higher than average for just 60 books...), but I don't think I could read 60 by one author. Good luck!
