Scary song of the week: Halloween

I'm watching Rob Zombie's "Halloween II" and while some out there might not like the direction Zombie took with his two "Halloween" films, one thing we can agree on is that John Carpenter's original theme is just about the best thing ever.

It's an unmistakeable tune, instantly recognizable. You here the song and you know something scary is about to go down.

Just like you hear the "Jaws" theme and started looking for sharks, you hear the familiar piano, a bit synthesized, and start looking around for someone silent, hulking brute with a kitchen knife. You can't help it, it just happens that way.

So just because it's August doesn't mean it's too soon to start celebrating the season.
